About RxLedger

RxLedger is an independent reference site for Medicare Part D prescription-drug spending data. What Medicare Part D spends on every drug — total spend, per dose, per claim and per beneficiary.

What we publish

We turn the official CMS Medicare Part D Spending by Drug dataset (data year 2023, U.S. public domain) into clear, searchable pages. For each of the 350 highest-spend drugs (out of about 3,598 in the dataset) we show total program spending, spending per dosage unit, per claim and per beneficiary, claims, beneficiaries, the manufacturer and year-over-year change — plus rankings and manufacturer hubs.

How we work

Every figure traces to the CMS file and is computed transparently; see our methodology for sources, definitions and limitations. Where CMS suppressed or omitted a value, we render an em dash and never invent it.
